2000 Subaru

Subaru Forester S-Turbo, W-reg (2000), UK spec car. Perfect second car for the winter, absolutely unstoppable in the snow and ice over the past few years.

MOT until May 2014, Tax until end of April 2014 (£225/year at present)

Just fitted a set of brand new 215/60R16 Nankang Snow SV2 winter tyres on standard 16" Forester alloys. All Weather Pack fitted, which includes front fog lights, heated seats, heated electric mirrors & heated lower windcreen.

Spare set of 17” 5 spoke Impreza alloys on good condition 215/55R17 Falken Ziex 914 summer tyres to go with the car (as shown in pictures).

I’ve owned the car since May 2008 (72,000 miles) and covered 250 miles per week commuting plus weekend trips away and it has never let me down. Engine runs very nicely, doesn’t use any water and there is no black smoke from the turbo. Drivetrain is all good with no whines or noises from the gearbox, diffs or CV joints. Brakes were serviced recently, rear discs upgraded to the later ventilated set-up.

Service history until approx 80k miles, after which serviced mostly by myself every 7,500 miles. All invoices for parts available. Major work completed includes:

- Cambelt, tensioners & oil pump changed by API Engines Subaru specialist at 115k miles

- Cambelt & tensioners changed by Arden Bridge Services Subaru specialist at 165k miles

- Rear wheel bearings replaced with new at 118k miles

- Front wheel bearings replaced with new at 128k miles

- All springs & dampers replaced with new KYB non-self levelling parts at 154k miles

Stainless cat back exhaust system fitted. Currently has a step-down pipe fitted in the back box, but this can be removed for the full on Subaru ‘burble’.

All electrics work, including sunroof and electric windows. OEM Subaru towbar with single electrics. Aftermarket Alpine single CD head unit fitted, including USB and I-pod connecters. Full grey leather interior is clean and tidy, slight wear to the driver’s side bolster as would be expected with the mileage. Few small marks in the load area from lugging things around, but generally in very good condition. Full black ‘Forester S-Turbo’ floor mat set.

Exterior wise, there are a few small cosmetic issues:

Usual stonechips around the bonnet, bumper & A-pillars. (Paint chip touch-up stick and aerosol can of the correct Subaru paint code available and will go with the car). Slight dent in the leading edge of the bonnet caused by wildlife in the road. Two small patches on the LHR quarter panel where the top coat of paint has chipped off, and one small area on the RHR wheel arch where there has been slight surface rust dressed back and treated. Some rust bubbles around the windscreen trim on the RHS A-pillar, not broken the paint but may need treating soon. Small scratches on LH side sill cover. Two small car park dings in LHR door.
