PistonHeads is arguably most enjoyable when the discussion is at its most esoteric and, frankly, nerdiest. This thread is the perfect example of that. Where else would you be discussing the cars which soldiered on beyond the rest of the model range to some sort of classic status?
Well, classic status tends to vary. We're talking here about the derivatives of cars that stayed in production longer than any other versions. The original poster 'LotusOmega375D' begins it well with the VW Golf Mk1 cabriolet, which was made throughout the whole life of the Mk2 Golf hatch. Other examples include the Renault Clio Campus, the updated Mk2 available after the Mk3 launch. Probably not a classic.
Other nominations? The Ford Escort van, the Citroen Xsara Picasso and, er, the Pagani Zonda special editions actually. Have a suggestion? Click the link!
