Elise S2 111(S)

More power for the second generation car

The new 160PS VVC engine derivative was a welcome addition to the Elise range. Although the Elise S2 weighs more than the S1 at 806kg (unladen), it's still a comparatively light car which benefits hugely from power increases.

The 111 could reach 62mph in 5.1 seconds and 0-100mph (160km/h) in an astonishing 14 seconds and a top speed of 132mph (212km/h)

New light weight 8 spoke nickel polished alloys were included along with a new F1 style three element rear diffuser improving the overall aerodynamic performance.

Three special Elise 111 and Elise 111s graphics are one of the giveaways to the identity of this powerful new Elise. The distinctive Elise 111 graphics are located under each side repeater and on the rear screen.

The 's' variant included full leather interior, carpets and uprated audio system.

Test drove this at the weekend and was blown away. The car builds confidence and has you smiling from the moment you start the drive to the moment you reluctantly hand it back.

If I could be 100% sure of it's longevity I'd be handing over the...

"superb affordable sportscar. Everything just spot on."

Excellent car. Fast, handling superb, cheap to run. Superb car, & much better than S1, not just a summer toy. Can be used everyday & no leaks.

What a brilliant car. Connects you to the road like few others. Some say there's more under steer than the series 1. But if you adapt your driving style slightly (a little slower in and a little earlier and faster out) It's a fantastic car and laps Castle...
