Hello gang,

Porter here. Wanted to give you a heads up that the next episode of Smith and Sniff, out on Monday, is being sponsored by the nice people at PistonHeads. Specifically, they’ve asked Jonny and me to each pick a car from their live auction listings and invite you in this thread to argue about who has made the better choice. Or to just call us a pair of flutes. Come back on Monday to see what we’ve picked.

You can browse all live and upcoming auctions here, and apply to sell your car by auction here.

Many thankings.

Richard

Has to be better than the usual AI-generated stuff about the vehicles for sale smile

Yes, I'll second that- I've had my copy since publication and think it is an excellent read (and re-read, etc). The first read was when I realised how much a part of TG's success was actually down to Porter's voice, as well as everyone else.

So knowing that he's here and before this thread comes into proper play on Monday, I'll say- thank you, Richard.

We won’t argue, no one around here does that sort of thing.

Looks like plenty of tasty cars for Richard to choose from. Jonny may find the decision a bit harder as the auctions seem to lack any obscure JDM cars or oddball choices, the Mustang SVT is probably the closest.

You've missed the JDM 750iL in white - can't get more obscure JDM than that hehe

Who wants a white 7 series!?

First of all, welcome. Secondly, is this how you would normally introduce yourself? You just come in here and start creating threads like you own the place? Get some manners.

The answer is of course the Honda Civic Type S, or the Mazda 3.

TPFAIF over and out

Me please! Although I'd rather have the vanquish. Saw one for the first time at the Scramble and amazed me how good it was in the metal

I'm with Jonny on this one, that Porsche is lovely (and not red). It's a little strange, I've "grown into" 911s of all ages recently and don't really know why - I used to dislike them as a nipper.

ETA: Any chance you could add links to your merch and this page to the description on the YT videos? I'm subscribed on Patreon, but prefer listening on YouTube for some reason smile

Listened to today’s pod in the garage whilst wrestling with steering pre-loads on my Range Rover Classic restoration project.

Im with Johnny - the 911 wins. But I got a sense you were too Sniff as soon as he started talking. hehe

I was going to go for Richard's choice as it is gorgeous and wanted to support local as I'm 4 miles from AML, however Jonny drops an even gorgeous'er one, not sure that's a word.
Also I love the number plate BIB 5566
Just need a lotto win now, so I can get for husband
