More data than you can shake a stick at
Race Technology have been
producing their compact data logging systems for some time now. Their units have
enjoyed a lot of success thanks to the simple installation method - secue the
box to the dashboard, hit a couple of buttons and away you go. Without needing
to plug the unit into anything other than a power supply, it's meant that user
can take the systems from car to car making it one of the easiest to use
sampling systems on the market.
They've now gone a step further with the introduction of their DL90 data logger. Packed into the small box with the clever gyroscopes and other gizmos is a GPS receiver.
With the assistance of these instruments the logger can measure speed, acceleration, cornering force, distance travelled, vehicle position and even the power. If you do connect it up to the car you can also record engine speed, wheel speed, gear and torque.
All that data can them be squirted into your PC for you to print of lots of pretty graphs to take down the pub and boast about. Or it has been suggested that you could you the data to reassess your car setup or driving technique.
Price is £500.
