Overview
As any self-respecting petrolhead will know, if a car is painted red it’ll go faster. And similarly, if you put an ST badge on a Ford it’ll do the same. The Mondeo ST24 introduced the ST badge to the world, starting a chain reaction which would continue to be synonymous with fast Fords to this day.
The V6 Duratec engine fitted to the Mondeo ST24 produced a whopping 168 bhp, which was enough to pique the interest of quite a few buyers at the time, including the long-term first owner of the car for sale here.
There aren’t many 90s Mondeos on our roads today, due in part to the British public’s enthusiasm for a good scrappage scheme. So this car is a rare survivor. It has weathered the storms of bureaucracy and fashion, emerging like a butterfly with its freshly gleaming red paintwork.
So if you’re looking for a trip back to the heady days of the late 90s, or if you have a drawer full of cassette tapes but no stereo then this Mondeo offers a way to put them to good use. It benefits from a reassuringly long MOT and low ownership.
