Overview
Although it was the very first Bentley produced under VW’s stewardship, the Continental GT was a massive success upon its release in 2003. Now widely recognised as one of the finest grand tourers money can buy, its unique blend of smooth styling, opulent interior finishes, bulletproof build quality and a thunderous W12 drivetrain make it both vastly capable and deeply practical.
If you’re looking for the quickest, most comfortable way for up to four adults to cover extreme distance with minimal effort and maximum pace, then not much this side of a private jet comes close. And yes, there will still be plenty of room for your colour-matched Louis Vuitton set thanks to the GT’s capacious luggage space.
We honestly can’t think of anything else that offers this much capability, presence and sheer swagger for the money. This is a fine example too, with an excellent service record, subtle yet classically attractive specification and the kind of gentle patination that you only get with supremely good material quality. It’s a very lovely thing, and we can’t imagine a better way to nip down to our yacht in Porto Cervo for a long weekend of fine-dining and Italian sea-breezes.

Summary
From its baritone purr at idle, almost imperceptible thrum while cruising to its full-bore, barrel-chested roar when you decide to bury your right foot, that fabulous twin-turbo W12 helps give the Continental a fabulously debonair character. Impeccably built, endlessly capable and just a little bit raffish, it’s everything a Bentley should be.
This handsome example has clearly been very well cared for, benefitting as it does from a superb service record and presenting in excellent condition inside and out. If you want a distinctive, well-specified, practical and endlessly capable grand tourer, the Bentley Continental GT is just about the best option there is. A technical tour de force, executed with clinical precision and peerless build quality, there’s a reason it’s been so successful. And this would be a great way to find out for yourself just how good they are…
