Overview
The 996-era Porsche 911 has truly come of age in the last few years. Long gone are the days of these water-cooled flat-six pioneers being derided as ugly or looking too much like a soap bar; the 996 has now achieved modern-classic status amongst enthusiasts, and with good reason. Here you have a performance car that you can use and enjoy everyday - especially in C4S guise thanks to its four-wheel-drive system - be it as a long-distance GT car, a day-to-day driver, posing around London, or showing a clean pair of heels to cars much newer and more expensive.
This particular C4S (which is arguably the best-looking of all the 996 models, thanks to its wide-arched ‘Turbo’ body, along with the wrap-around rear reflector) was first registered in Belfast, Ireland, before being registered in the UK in April 2005. Used and enjoyed throughout its lifetime, this example benefits from a full Hartech engine replacement, meaning this is a C4S that can be driven as Porsche intended without the usual 996 worries.
Purchased by the current owner in May 2024 as a summer toy, this 911 benefits from a recent round of works including replacement of the clutch and flywheel, as well as new brake discs and pads all round, meaning the next owner should simply jump in, turn the key and enjoy; could it be you?

Interior
- The interior presents very well for a car of this age and mileage, with commensurate wear to high-traffic areas
- The leather seats have a lovely age-related patina, with some creasing and indentations, but no rips or tears that we can see
- There are a few small scuffs visible to the rear of the seats, as well as on the inner door sills consistent with the age of the vehicle
- Heated seats, driver seat memory function, BOSE stereo and more
- The luggage compartment - or ‘frunk’ to Porsche enthusiasts - looks to be in tidy condition
- Up above, the headliner is taut throughout the cabin
- The OE stereo / CD player is present, as are the OE CD holders in the lower dash
Exterior
- Finished in arguably the best colour for the 996 C4S, the overall external condition of this example is very good
- The front end and mirror caps exhibit some typical wear in the form of stone chips and minor marks
- The leading edge of the rear bumper exhibits wear on both sides, with a larger blemish visible on the nearside rear arch
- There are a few small scuffs and marks visible on the lower front bumper splitter
- The windscreen exhibits a number of stone chips, but none of which have troubled the MoT tester
- All of the wheels show some signs of wear, with particular reference to both offside and the nearside front wheels
- The seller advises that rear tyres were replaced recently
- We can see no signs of any dents or impact damage, nor any obvious panel mis-alignment
Mechanical
- 3.6-litre, naturally aspirated flat-six engine which was rebuilt by Hartech at 70k miles with the all-important IMS and RMS issues addressed
- Manual six-speed gearbox
- All four wheels are driven, making the C4S the ideal 911 for those that want to enjoy that wonderful flat-six howl in all weathers
- The standard exhaust has been replaced with an uprated valved Milltek example during a previous owner’s tenure which reportedly sounds fantastic and really turns heads with the valves open
- The vendor reports that the car drives fantastically, with any mechanical issues or niggles addressed in the recent bout of work in January 2025, meaning there are no known faults with the vehicle
- The work included new brake discs and pads all-round, a new clutch, flywheel, gear linkage, anti roll bar and anti roll bar bushes
- The seller informs us that the car was also serviced at 111k miles and new front coffin arms were fitted at the same time
- In summary, the car has seen significant recent expenditure with a marque specialist, and has a strong history of both marque specialists and Official Porsche Centres throughout the cars lifetime
Summary
Benefitting from a fully rebuilt Hartech engine and a strong factory specification, along with a well-maintained service history showing that this is a car that has been loved throughout its lifetime; this is a driver-ready example of the iconic Porsche 911 (996) C4S that is ready to enjoy for many years to come.
