Overview
Goldilocks may have been an inveterate house-breaker and porridge thief, but she was definitely on to something with her desire for something that was “just right”. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the world of performance cars. And if you’re after a supercar that you can use regularly, even as a daily, then the Porsche 911 reigns supreme.
The problem is that the 911 range is now so vast, and the options so bewildering, that finding the “just right” sweet spot may seem like an impossible task. Two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive? Manual or PDK? Coupe, convertible or targa? GT3, GT2, RS model? Maybe a special edition?
Well never fear, Porsche fans, because Pistonheads is here to help. All you need to remember is three letters: GTS. The GT3RS may destroy all comers on track, the base Carrera may delight with its more stripped back approach, but for anyone driving on UK roads, the GTS is the model that will give you that “just right” feeling.
More potent than base models, comfier and more forgiving than the hardcore GT and RS models, benefitting from a raft of subtle aesthetic enhancements and with all the luxury and technology you could reasonably desire, the GTS is, in our opinion, the perfect daily 911. It also just happens to be packing a whopping 480bhp (that’s more grunt than four original Lotus Elises). Porsche claims that the result of this is a 3.1 second 0-62 dash. But Porsche is famously generous with their timings, so expect that figure to actually be a bit lower. Yes, we’re talking “twos”. Which is nice.
This particular example is, to all intents and purposes, pretty much brand new too. With just over 5,000 miles on the clock and the kind of specification that makes grown men go all wobbly in the knee department, this is an absolute gem of a machine. Bedecked with some excellent factory options and just the right amount of flash, you’ll be searching for a while to find a better example. So forget the idea of waiting lists, this devastatingly potent yet sumptuously finished 911 really is all the car you could ever need.
Just right? Too right it is.

Summary
When it comes to pure driver satisfaction, few car manufacturers come close to Porsche. There’s a reason that the 911 fanbase is so loyal – it’s a fabulous machine that seems to get more and more usable and capable with each generation.
The argument for the GTS is a compelling one, it can easily claim to be the most complete all-round iteration of the 911.
This particular example has a whole host of factory options and extras, benefits from a deeply desirable specification and is presented in tremendously fine condition too.
As we may have intimated before, it’s just right. Actually no, it’s more than that, it’s damn near perfect.
