Porsche nuts and track-day drivers alike have woken up to the incredible potential of the original Boxster over the years. And with a dedicated race series, you can enjoy that wonderful chassis and flat-six howl to its full potential.

You see, Porsche got the Boxster just right from the factory, so long as you didn’t want to go racing. If you want to turn it up to 11, you need some serious work, such as a full roll-cage, seats, harnesses and the important safety equipment. Sure, you could buy a donor car and carry out the work yourself, or you could save time (and money) and purchase one that’s ready-made and prepped to go racing, which is exactly what we have here. Not only is it track-ready, but it could also be road-legal (subject to refitting the supplied catted exhaust and when furnished with an MOT), although we may suggest bringing some ear defenders as the cabin insulation is a thing of the past.

Built from a “clean” 2001 Boxster S donor car with the accompanying V5, this example has had a plethora of upgrades and modifications fitted with the intention of being raced in the single-make Porsche Boxster Cup, though the decision has been made for the car to be moved on due to the owner setting their sights on an MX-5 instead, meaning you now have the opportunity to purchase a ready-to-race Boxster just in time for the racing season to begin in earnest.
