Overview

If fiction is to be believed then Aston Martin had the first satnav back in the 1960s, when Q fitted Sean Connery’s DB5 with a device which he used to track Auric Goldfinger all the way across Europe. And while you may or may not be involved in clandestine international movements of gold bullion, you can still set your satnav for the Alps and see what your V8 Aston is capable of when the road gets to the twisty bits.

If you’re looking for a long-legged grand tourer that can also be a sports car when called upon, then this Vantage has a lot to offer. 380 bhp and 302 lb ft arrive once your right foot has exchanged pleasantries with the leather-trimmed footwell carpets. And the six-speed manual transmission makes making progress up an Alp a joyous experience.

The car comes accompanied by a stack of servicing invoices, and has just passed an MOT without any advisories to note. The seller tells us that it has been dry stored and seen intermittent use, which is corroborated by the mileage still being under 43,000. In fact, it has only covered under three thousand miles in the past six years.

This powerful and stylish two-seater cuts a dash wherever it goes. And other than a few light signs of use, it remains in very presentable condition inside and out. The Vantage remains a very attractively styled car, even when viewed alongside much newer options. It lines toe the fine line between suaveness, sophistication, and purpose. In other words, it’s lovely.
