Overview

Oh the agony of choice when you’re buying a brand new Bentley Continental. So many options, so many colours, so many luxuries. So we pity those who have to go through this agonising ordeal. V8 or V12? How do you decide? Well at least Bentley offered a middle way. A path to zen tranquility and enlightenment. And this came in the form of the V8 S. 

This model offers increased power output over the standard V8, and improvements to the suspension. Clever adjustments were made to the spring rates, anti-roll bars, dampers, and stability control system. We won’t pretend to understand the physics behind all this, but we can comprehend how a 10mm lower ride height and a front splitter help to make things sharper. And red brake calipers, they always add a few horsepower. 

The example we see here is finished in a delicate shade of pale grey, and this paint appears to have been very well respected over the years. There’s barely a blemish to be seen in it, which may have something to do with the car bristling with parking sensors. And the bodywork looks like it's been carefully tip-toed around, and probably hasn't spent much time in many tight city-centre car parks. 

So if you’re looking for a well-appointed Bentley which will massage you as it sweeps graciously across the country, then this Continental GT V8 S has a lot to offer. It remains extremely smart throughout, and displays just the right amount of sporting eagerness.

Summary

Yes it’s big and unashamedly luxurious, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be quick too. With its 514 bhp on tap and clever suspension system, you can be sure you’ll get to your destination ahead of time. For many, a V8 S strikes the perfect balance and this one looks to be in lovely condition.
