In 1995, the 'new' Turbo R was launched, still based on the Mulsanne chassis, but now with Zytec digital engine management and digital ignition

Powered by a turbocharged 6,750cc V8 mated to a GM 4-speed gearbox but more highly tuned than the Mulsanne and featuring Bosch fuel-injection, uprated suspension, anti-roll bars, superior dampers and a sport mode that not only maximised in-gear acceleration but also stiffened the suspension

There were a number of external changes including 17" wheels with bigger Avon tyres, body-coloured mirrors, brighter headlamps and more aggressive 'ground effect' aerodynamics which made the car more planted the faster it went

The interior also benefited from improved seats, a tilt steering wheel and a host of other revisions to make the cabin an even more luxurious place to be

This stylish example is finished in Sherwood Green over Spruce-piped Magnolia hide and Burr Walnut veneers and door cappings

Supplied with its original service handbook and much service history. Recent new suspension hydraulic spheres and four new Michelin tyres. Will have a fresh MOT prior to sale

Just 1,366 New Turbo Rs were made in total, 823 in long-wheelbase form, before it was replaced by the Arnage at the end of 1997, making this now a rare car
