Here's an older, more beautiful (IMHO) version, for significantly less...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-Jaguar-XJR-V8-Auto...

An initial concern for me, is the fact it's clearly a back-yard trader, punting on the 'bay. But at under four thousand, there's room for a war chest and a complete service, fettle and cuddle from a sympathetic spanner monkey.

The alternative is a TVR...but chassis rust scares me off. Don't think post 03 Mercs rust - galvanized from then?

It doesn't have the cleanest of mot histories - needs front discs and springs - and need to check it got the spark plug and gear box oil service at 50k. Wonder how much movement there is in price...
Hi integroo, I have a solid TVR for sale, do
drop me a message if your interested.

I had a new e class as a hire car this week.

E220D, 4 matic.

Lots of cool, yet unnecessary technology, gearbox was really nice of a little hesitant upon acceleration (in comfort mode), but my god it was noisy, I needed the phone on full volume to be able to hear and have a conversation.

An ok car, I’m guessing circa £45-50k, no chance.
You probably had the AMG kit on it. I've driven one a fair few times now and it's awful compared to the SE.
The ride is hard, the steering is too heavy.
Whereas the SE flows nicely with nice uncorrupted steering where only the front wheels are steering and not tryna pull the car forward.

Over thread and price just down so might be hard to bring it in (5995), but mega spec on this S80 4.4

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...

The one at 4750 hasn't gone yet so there's little appetite for them it seems.

Want. Reassuringly expensive too.

Yeah, nice to see a car where every button has something on!

Was 6495 last week though so suspect getting much off straight away will be hard.

It's an outrageous amount of car for the money.

Mind you, I would be availing myself of the delivery option offered on that one, rather than venturing into that sale location. eek

Owned by a retired policeman? Or a warning of what the engine and/or gearbox will do 20 mins after purchase?

The R-Class , forgot about them they were daft money when they came out, hence nobody bothered buying them.

Apart from Chex, cause he has two.

Typical of the way in which this thread meanders on and (more often) off the topic of the title, please post some pictures of this beast of yours. Whilst the Barge thread might not be a natural place to find a TVR buyer, there is always lots of interest in the esoteric, interesting or just plain weird. A TVR will fit right in!

ABC pump done already so that's one bork de grande out of the way.
They seem to have gotten a lot cheaper in the past 12 months. ULEZ fear I think. Which is odd, because I am pretty sure all M113 versions are compliant- mine was when I looked it up

Maybe a little toppy on price, but that looks terrific.

The 'R' version of these - from a time when the letters genuinely meant performance rather than a trim level - really is the 'thug-that-went-to-a-private-school-and-has-a-nice-accent-but-who-remains-a-psychotic-nutter-at-heart' - to me, and is all the more appealing because of it.

Impressive.

Looks one of the few OEM sat navs that are in a sensible place (pops up on top of dashboard) instead of the usual down by the usual half way down the centre consul nonsense location.

Performance stats - that is a fast barge.

I covet V8 Volvos rather badly.
