When we were last in Wales for a Sunday Service it was very muddy, very cold and raining sideways (although there were rally cars, and they kind of made up for it...). So when packing my bag for yesterday's Sunday Service I wasn't very optimistic on the weather front, so jumpers and jackets it was, as well as sunglasses that would absolutely not be needed! How wrong I was. 24 degrees, more Aston Martins than you could ever count and generally a fantastic day!
The morning started with the hunt for food, and Aston Martin delivered with a mini Welsh food festival on site which was very popular, unsurprisingly. Aston Martin then opened up their super hangars which were filled with a selection of James Bond cars, current production cars, and a particularly cool section of their special cars such as the Vulcan, the gorgeous One-77, the DBX and the absolutely stunning Valkyrie amongst others. It wasn't just cars on show, though; Aston Martin had their clay sculptor, designers and interior team there talking to members so we could understand the process in much more detail. Oh, and a rather large, rather brilliant C-130 Hercules. There were also dynamic displays going on just outside the hangars on a section of unused runway throughout the morning, with lots of tyre smoke and V12 noise adding to the fun!
Aston Martin didn't completely steal the show, though. PHers came out in force and lined the outside of the super hangars with an array of lovely cars. A personal favourite was a mint little 205 Rallye nestled amongst a McLaren 650S, Zenos E10S and 911 GT3 RS to name a few, plus a very pretty yellow TVR Sagaris, which seemed a favourite amongst PHers.
I'd like to send a huge thank you to the Aston Martin team for having us, it was a brilliant day with so much to do for the whole family. I'd also like to thank all the PHers that attended, we will hopefully see you at our next Sunday Service at Santa Pod on Sunday May 7 - keep an eye out for the announcement!
