Next time you're overtaken by the Motor Factors van doing 50mph along
the High Street, you might be surprised to see that it's a proper 'hot'
van as built by Ford. No longer will a stolen set of alloys be required to
give the delivery van street cred. Ford has legitimised the XR van with
the new Fiesta XRV.
The sporty new Ford Fiesta XRV van is targeted at style conscious urban
drivers. It should also appeal to the scrotes who feel compelled to race all comers
whilst piloting their underpowered delivery vans. Based on the Fiesta 35
1.8 TDdi van, it features a generous level of standard equipment including
moondust silver metallic paint, 14 inch alloy wheels, partial(!) leather
steering wheel, radio cassette player, roof spoiler, and metallic grey
instrument surrounds - woo hoo!
The 1.8 TDdi direct injection engine is good for about 73bhp, but more
importantly has a turbo bolted to it justifying the addition of luminous
'TURBO' stickers. Sorted.
