This is the Lamborghini Minotauro, masters design student Andrei Avarvarii's take on a large Lamborghini supercar for 2020.
As design studies go, taking a Lamborghini supercar and replacing the monster V12 with electric power is not going to endear you to many, but the Minotauro concept, designed at the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan at least has dramatic looks on its side (and how).
So how does Signore Avarvarii justify removing the V12? Thusly: "The absence of a big V12 engine in the rear creates enough room for a third passenger in a central position." It's certainly one way of looking at it.
The quartet of electric motors would power all four wheels, with 70 per cent of power sent to the pair at the rear. A KERS system would give a further power kick.
The triangular details where the exhausts would be in a conventional car also help to re-inject some of that good old combustion engine fun. While they help to cool the battery, they also work like bass tubes, channelling the sound of electric motors to help give the electric Lambo at least some sort of engine note.
Should the car ever become a reality (we'll let you work out how likely that is), owners would be able to upload GPS-recorded lap times to an online community, which would work like track ghosts in a computer driving sim, allowing owners to 'compete' virtually with each other on track.
