A new Prodrive developed performance pack is now available for Subaru’s new-look Impreza WRX. The 265PS (~260bhp) option matches the power of the standard STi but produces more torque - a tarmac disturbing 257 lb-ft in fact.
Available at just 4,000 rpm, that's an extra 36 lb-ft over the standard WRX.
Performance is spritely with 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds and 0-100 mph in 14.1 seconds. This compares to the standard WRX times of 5.6 and 15.9 seconds respectively.
Throttle response is said to be significantly improved throughout the rev-range, both during take-off and at the top-end. For example, the 30-50 mph time in fourth gear comes down from 7.8 seconds to 6.3 seconds and the 50-70 mph time in fifth gear is slashed from 10 seconds to 7.4 seconds.
The £1,600 performance pack has to be fitted after registration and comprises a reprogrammed ECU and free-flow exhaust system with a large single tailpipe. This price includes VAT and fitting.
