It might have been -5 degrees when we arrived at Thruxton for our final Sunday Service of 2022, but that wasn’t cold enough to put many of you off, with hundreds pouring in. We filled the car park (or was it a frozen lake?) and then some, so thanks to everyone that braved the elements to make it another cracking event.
Luckily Thruxton threw open the doors to their Motorsport Centre for us to enjoy a hot breakfast to get some respite from the Arctic conditions. The broad church of PistonHeads served up everything from a Suzuki Ignis Sport to a Lamborghini Aventador. The Bravery Award goes to the two bikers that rocked up, and it was no surprise to see all sorts of four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive cars roll in.
Naturally, the sprinklers weren’t required until late morning on the skid pan, where everyone left with a big grin after trying to keep their car pointing in the right direction. Who knew going so slow could be so much fun?
We helped raise more than £2,200 for Mission Motorsport on the day, so a big thanks to all of you. And, of course, a grateful tip of the PH cap once again to the team at Thruxton for hosting us.
In case you didn't know, 2023 is going to be a big one, as we aim to celebrate our 25th anniversary in style. You can check out our provisional calendar here, and join in with the conversation from Sunday here. Until next time!
