Ever found your V8 muscle car a little too modest and meek? Dodge may have the answer with the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept.
Can you see the two-inch suspension drop here?
'Drone Yellow' paint, a Mopar bodykit, black honeycomb stripes and 24-inch wheels should get the single-cab Ram noticed when stationary. Failing that, a Mopar cat-back exhaust that can be set to 'loud' or 'louder' (we're not kidding here) should do the job when the Hemi is started.
The 5.7-litre V8 makes 395hp and 407lb ft which, when combined with 2WD, sounds like the ideal recipe for tyre-shredding silliness.
However, the engine is mated to an eight-speed auto, which may rather hinder progress on that front. Still, no harm in trying...
The interior is no less dramatic than what's found outside. There's yellow and black leather, an actual bee in the gear selector and a rather more honeycomb trim than is probably acceptable. But then is there a limit on a car called the Rumble Bee?
Interior would never quite match the outside!
The truck has just been unveiled at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, which sounds about as ideologically opposed to Pebble Beach as it is geographically. As a concept, this Ram will join others created over the past decade including the Warlock and the Power Wagon. That it won't make production leaves our inner hillbilly somewhat bereft.
