Moving to the land of the free opens up some special choices of cars that aren't available in the UK. One that stands out is definitely the Crown Victoria, synonymous with New York's yellow cabs and of course as US police interceptors.
Lindrup119 has purchased the latter, a 212,000 mile Crown Victoria Police Interceptor before even touching down on US soil. It ticks all the boxes he had in his list - cheap, easy to fix and with a V8. Check, check and check!
Bought for less than $2,500 (£2,010), the car has a few faults including a misfire known to the OP upon purchase, a leak here and there and a stuck driver's window. But the police spotlight remains, as does the cabin divider for those pesky juveniles; apparently the boot is large enough to hold three bodies as well! New plugs and coils fixed the misfire and replacement switch regulators cured the window woes, but a few niggles remain.
The idea is to run it as a runaround, keeping it pretty standard and just fixing as it goes. Congratulations Lindrup119, your Crown Victoria Police interceptor is our Reader's Car of the Week. Read the full thread here.
