While the Mustang-engined, V8 MG ZTs (and Rover 75s, as well) were decent enough old barges, they weren't exactly rippling muscle cars despite their 4.6-litre capacity. 260hp made them about as fast as a contemporary BMW 330i which, well, isn't really fast enough.
One or two cars were supercharged by MG as development cars, though sadly never sold. However, of course, there are plentiful Mustang tuners around; get those people in touch with a few enterprising (or power hungry) ZT owners and you can see what's going to happen...
PHer 'lesfinnie' owns a supercharged V8 ZT-T, the car that's believed to be the last converted by Dreadnought. And doesn't it look great? There aren't many facelifted Tourers around, leave alone red V8 versions. Add in this car's supercharged status and it could be one of a kind.
Having owned the car for five years, the main focus for Les is keeping the MG looking as good as it does. It's stored over winter and is still in absolutely fantastic condition, a great reminder of what might have been; Les, whatever you do with it, please keep us updated!
