Team Central, the West Midlands TVR dealer, based in Perry Barr, Birmingham,
which went into Administrative Receivership earlier this year has been saved
from the brink by its Receivers from Cooper-Parry. The business has been sold to
Proactive Personnel Limited of Telford.
Tyrone Courtman and Shaun Adams from Cooper-Parry, Business Advisors in
Nottingham were appointed Joint Administrative Receivers on 9th February 2001,
following severe cashflow difficulties, which the company had been experiencing,
following a significant decline in new and used car sales.
Tyrone Courtman Administrative Receiver from Cooper-Parry said "Following
my review, I concluded that it would be in everyone's interest if the business
could keep trading whilst a buyer was sought. I am delighted with the
result, the business provides a combination of unique skills and experience to a
very specialist product, it preserves the livelihood of a number of employees
and will help maximise the recoveries for the benefit of all of the company's
creditors. Furthermore it demonstrates my firms commitment to saving businesses
and jobs, whenever possible. We are dedicated to help ailing businesses survive
and prosper".
Jon Glews of Proactive Personnel, the purchaser said "I am very
pleased to be able to provide an opportunity for the business to flourish and to
provide ongoing employment. We are committed to our investment. The company has
tremendous potential. We are determined to see the business succeed!"
Despite its history with TVR, the new company - known as "Team Proactive
Limited" - will specialise in bodyshop repairs, servicing, engine tuning
and race car preparation of all performance cars.
