First port of call inside the Coupe should be the boot to check for any signs of water ingress, particularly a musty smell. Boot seals fail with age and are quickly replaced, but lift them up to be sure there's no rust lurking beneath. While in the boot, lift the carpet to inspect the seam between the floor and wheelarches.
Just as distinctive inside too!
In the cabin, look for worn seat material on the outer driver's side bolsters. Basic models came with fabric upholstery, but many owners chose leather as an option when new in tan or black. The Limited Edition and Plus models have Recaro front seats as standard. A quick way to tell them apart is the LE has red inserts, while the Plus has black hide with red stitching.
One problem you are likely to find in many Coupes is the material covering the centre console, dash and handbrake surround goes soft and sticky with age. Some owners paint these areas to solve the problem, while others have gone to the expense of having them retrimmed.

"The two 20v Turbos I had were very quick and a lot of fun; the handling was 'interesting' and they looked gorgeous inside and out. Surprisingly practical too."
