It's easy to like the Lexus LC an awful lot: it looks great, it sounds great and it's imbued with that sort of meticulous Lexus quality that it's hard to find elsewhere. They are all attributes that should be further heightened with the V8-only LC Convertible, which we now have a price for: £90,775 for the standard LC500, and £96,625 for the LC500 Sport+ Pack.
They represent premiums of £10,675 and £11,325 respectively over the equivalent MY2021 LC500 coupes, prices for which have also been announced today. As before, the hard top also has a hybrid powertrain option, the LC500h priced from £80,100. The Coupe in both powertrains also gets a regular Sport Pack option denied to the Convertible, though it isn't clear yet what you get with each model. We know that the 21-inch forged wheel option (£2,100 on a non-Sport car) is included and that the semi-aniline leather extra is not on a Sport+ pack, unless it's a Convertible, in which case it is; what of the head-up display (£1,250), 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system (£1,000) and £500 metallic paint options make to the various packs isn't confirmed yet. And we'll stop there to avoid further confusion. Suffice it to say that LC buyers aren't likely to go without equipment, given how Lexus typically stuffs its cars full of kit.
As a reminder, this LC500 Coupe update is said to bring benefits to the powertrain, dynamic performance and connectivity; truth told they are all areas that could use some improvement, so it'll be interesting to see what's been implemented. Orders for both Coupe and Convertible are being taken now, with deliveries due in the autumn. However, just finally, it would be remiss of us not to mention what's on offer secondhand; despite few being sold, one or two LCs do pop up now and again, as shown in our recent Six of the Best. This LC500 is more expensive than that featured car, but at a little over £60k with fewer than 6,000 miles, it's hard to ignore.
