Overview
In the long and hallowed hall of 911 history, the 997 looms large for being one of the most successful models produced. This iteration of the world’s favourite rear-engined sportscar proved to be one of the best selling models, with more 997s leaving the dealerships than you could shake a Bratwurst at.
This particular example is sleek and suave, in its gloss black paint and matching black leather interior. It hails from a simpler time, twenty-ish years ago, when dashboards had real buttons on them, and a satnav update involved buying a new DVD and loading it into the machine.
Accompanied by an extensive service record, this 997 has clearly been carefully maintained. In August 2024, it had its cylinder bores inspected and they were found to be in good condition, which will give bidders peace of mind about the health of the engine. Just some of the other extensive mechanical work has included new brake discs and pads all round, and a front suspension rebuild with new shock absorbers and springs.
So when you’re next shifting down a gear and seeing what the all-wheel drive system can do, you can be safe in the knowledge that the previous owners of this Porsche have been on top of its maintenance schedule. The surprisingly shiny paintwork is thanks to professional polishing and ceramic coating, along with refurbished alloy wheels to ensure this car’s suaveness continues well into the future.

Summary
A manual gearbox, all wheel drive, and rear-mounted 3.8-litre engine are the stuff childhood dreams are made of. And now you can make them a reality, along with the very grown-up reassurance of chunky maintenance invoices on file. This looks to be a lovely example of a desirably-specced 997.
